Former Chelsea player Tony Cascarino believes Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers will not turn down the chance to manage Manchester United if contacted.
The Northern Irishman is one of those managers link. With the Red Devils to take over if Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sack. Which, although previously refer to as being commit to. But Cascarino believes Rodgers would not turn down an offer if United approached.
“I knew Brendan would jump right in,” Cascarino told Talkspor. “I said ‘I know’ – Brendan, if he was listening he would say, ‘How do you know that?'”
“But just because of his resume when he is offer an offer and a job at Leicester is not as much of a quality Manchester United job as they use to be at an incredible club. Do great things and have a great team.”
“The attraction of Manchester United attracts all managers. That was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Brendan.”
“If it wasn’t for Zidane because of the other issues – the way he views the Premier League – Brendan. I think he’ll dive here.”
The Norwegian has been heavily criticized for recent performances and results, which has resulted in United slipping to sixth in the Premier League table.
And, if Solskjaer was to lose his job, Cascarino says that Rodgers’ style of football would make him a great replacement.
